Crazy Eight

The Crazy Eight were a group of Democrat State Senators who organized in 1975 for the intent of resisting direction from either then-Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley or state party leadership. These "Independent" Democrats called for government transparency and won a position in leadership for Sen. Terry Bruce from then-Senate President Cecil Partee.
